I chose this image because it shows how the boys were able to use Piggy's glasses to create a signal fire on the mountain. The fire is the boys only hope to be rescued. Without the fire, there is no hope for the boys to be rescued. This makes Piggy's glasses their only hope of being rescued, because the boys use the glasses to create the fire.
“He was a chief now in truth; and made stabbing motions with his spear. From his left hand dangled Piggy’s broken glasses.” (Golding 168)
This quote shows the shift in power from Ralph to Jack, through the stealing of Piggy's glasses. Piggy's glasses symbolizes power because the glasses have the power to create fire. Whomever has the glasses, holds the power. The stealing of the glasses shows the power shift from Ralph to Jack, and symbolizes the shift of power from order and civilization to savagery.
